‘An extremely comprehensive, interesting and atmospheric walking tour. Our guide Steve obviously has done a great deal of research into the life and times of Burke and Hare and is also a great source of information on other aspects of the history of the old town. I would highly recommend and felt it was extremely good value.’ – R Thorne

‘Two friends, my wife and I went on this walking tour as we only had a few days in Edinburgh and thought we’d give it a go. I am so glad we did, we all thoroughly enjoyed it and Steve our guide gave a fascinating insight into what the Edinburgh of Messrs Burke and Hare was like. 90 mins fled by. Can’t recommend highly enough.’ – Mark L

‘We felt at ease with Steve and could therefore ask him as many questions as we wanted about the “gruesome twosome”.’ – Jackie Robert

‘Entertaining and informative walking tour related to the exploits of 1820s murderers-Burke and Hare. Great information and visiting bits of Edinburgh I’ve not seen before (and I live here). Steve was knowledgable and entertaining with lots of facts about 19th century Edinburgh. Well worth the walk. Do it, it’s fun.’ – stuart k, Edinburgh

‘A really interesting walk around key locations in the Burke and Hare story. Steve is a great guide and had lots of facts and social history of the time woven into the tour. Even as an Edinburgh resident, I learned a lot and enjoyed seeing hidden away places I’d never seen before. Highly recommended – and it will get you off the busy tourist trail.’ – Sandra M, Edinburgh

‘Thank you Steve a really fascinating walk with some gruesome facts about what was happening in the 19th century in Edinburgh. Glad I was visiting in 2018 and not in the 1820s….Bring some good shoes and a warm jacket if it’s cool out and enjoy.’ – Lee R, Australia

‘We really enjoyed this tour, our guide Steve has clearly put in a lot of time and research into it. He clearly loves the history of Edinburgh and the tour took in some lesser-known parts of the city and we’re now full-bottles on Burke and Hare. We come to Edinburgh each year and will be checking Auld Toun tours website to see if Steve has added any more itineraries for 2019.’ – Ashtiboy, Australia

‘Excellent tours.’- Rosalind Byrne, Australia

‘Interesting stories and information, great guide!’ – Yi-Fan Yin-Cheng, Canada
